Our Home Gym Reveal: From Guest Room to Functional Fitness Space
Welcome to our home gym reveal! We transformed a simple guest bedroom into a sleek and functional workout space complete with a Peloton, free weights, and a black-and-white modern design. It’s now the perfect place to break a sweat without ever leaving home!

When we decided to transform one of our guest bedrooms into a home gym, I knew I wanted it to be more than just a room with equipment — I wanted a space that felt motivating, modern, and stylish. Working out from home has become such a big part of my routine, so creating an area that inspired consistency and energy was important to me.
We started by clearing out the guest room and reimagining how we could make the most of the space. Our goal was to keep things sleek and functional while still feeling cohesive with the rest of our home’s design.
I personally like to do a combination of different workouts, including weight training, some cardio, and yoga, but the majority of my time is spent with weight training. I needed to make sure I kept space in the center of the room to be able to do free weights as well as lay out my yoga mat when needed.

The foundation of the room is our Peloton bike, which has become my go-to for morning rides. Additionally, the screen swivels so I can do my yoga classes or guided weight training class as needed. Alongside the bike, we added our multifunctional cable weight machine — it takes up a bit of space, but it truly brings that “gym feel” home. I love how versatile the workouts are using the cable machine. I were really surprised at how easy it was to put together and are thrilled with how well it fits in the room.
One of my favorite additions are the free weights rack and a movable workout bench, giving us flexibility for strength training and circuit workouts. I use my free weights regularly and it's great to be able to move the workout bench to where I need it.

For smaller workout essentials, I wanted everything to have a place without creating clutter. A woven basket holds our yoga mat, blocks, and resistance bands, and we tucked a large exercise ball neatly in the corner. It’s all within easy reach but still looks tidy and intentional. Our flooring is luxury vinyl so it's very durable, but we added the mats to the floor to protect it from the heavy equipment as well as to add a little cushion under foot. They come in various sizes so you can customize it to your space.
When it came to the design, I wanted a clean and bold look — something that felt energizing but still cohesive with the rest of our home. We went with a black and white color palette for a timeless, modern feel. The mirrored wall makes the room feel larger and brighter, while also helping you ensure you are keeping proper form while working out. We went with a two panel wall mirror, but if you have the space, do three. The black accent paint (black magic by SW) gives it a little extra drama and contrast which I really love.

To finish off the space, we mounted a TV for streaming workouts or shows and added a few black exercise patent prints (found on Etsy) in simple frames for a touch of personality. The result is a gym that feels both functional and stylish — a space that motivates me to move and fits seamlessly into our home.
Whether it’s a quick yoga session, a full-body strength workout, or a Peloton ride, this room truly has everything I need to stay active from home. Hopefully this gave you some ideas or inspiration to create your own home gym. Feel free to reach out with any questions!
