A Fresh + Modern Guest Bathroom Transformation

When we set out to remodel our guest bathroom, our goal was to create a space that felt fresh, modern, and inviting while still timeless enough to last for years to come. With a mix of textures, high-end finishes, and carefully chosen details, the end result is a guest bathroom that feels both elevated and welcoming.

Statement Wall: Slatted Wood Look Tile

One of the first design decisions we made was to add a slatted wood look tile feature wall in the shower. I fell in love with this Shibusa Crema straight stack from Arizona Tile. It has a mesh back which makes it easier to install. This detail brings warmth and natural texture to the space while keeping it durable and easy to maintain. It instantly draws the eye up and creates a spa-like focal point for the entire bathroom.

Classic White Subway Tile with a Modern Twist

To balance the warmth of the wood tones, we chose a creamy white subway tile laid vertically on the two side walls of the shower. The vertical orientation gives a fresh, modern feel while maintaining the timeless appeal of classic subway tile. This tile has a beautiful sheen to it and is the Gioia collection also from Arizona Tile.

Elegant Flooring: Hex Mosaic Marble Tile

On the floor, we went with a hex mosaic marble tile that adds elegance and a touch of luxury. The natural veining of the marble ties beautifully with the neutral tones in the shower tile, creating a cohesive and high-end look. The small hex and slight texture of the marble make it a perfect non-slip shower floor.

Sleek Glass Shower Doors + Champagne Bronze Fixtures

For the shower, we opted for clear glass doors to keep the space feeling open and bright. To complement the natural and modern textures, we chose champagne bronze fixtures from Delta. The warm metallic finish adds just the right amount of sophistication and contrast against the white and wood tones. We used the same tone on the sink faucets as well and I absolutely LOVE the color and quality of the fixtures.

The Vanity: Double Sinks for Function + Style

Storage and functionality were key for this remodel, so we selected a double sink, white vanity. This is a cultured marble top which had the look we wanted without the upkeep. Not only does it provide ample space for guests, but it also keeps the bathroom feeling bright and fresh. I love the combination of functional drawers as well as doors.

Finishing Touches: Wooden Arched Mirrors

Above the vanity, we hung two wooden arched mirrors that tie in with the wood tones of the shower wall. They add warmth, character, and a hint of old-world charm that balances the modern finishes perfectly. When I saw the arched detail, I knew these would be the perfect finishing touch to our bathroom.

Final Thoughts

This guest bathroom remodel is the perfect blend of modern elegance, warmth, and functionality. From the slatted wood look tile wall to the champagne bronze fixtures, every element was chosen to create a space that feels timeless yet fresh. It’s a room we’re proud to share with guests and one that makes a statement while still being completely livable.
